We have created this privacy and cookie statement to make it clear that we take the privacy of all personal data we handle at Interstellar, very seriously. For this reason, the personal data we collect is processed and secured with great care. We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

1. Who is Interstellar?

Interstellar is a next-level IT service provider. An ambitious team of professionals who do not shy away from challenges. We believe that organizations can shape the world, and together we explore new paths and work towards a better futur

The personal data we process, purposes, and retention periods:

Execution of agreements

We process your personal data for entering and executing agreements for ICT services and maintaining the resulting relationships, including related marketing activities. For this, we process your name, phone number, email address, company name, any financial or fiscally relevant data, and the corresponding correspondence.

We use this data because it is necessary for the agreement or to conclude or settle it. We retain this data as long as necessary to properly perform our services and agreements. Afterward, we destroy it unless we are legally required to keep it longer.

Click behavior and visit data

When using our website, we obtain general visit data, such as the IP address of your computer, the time of retrieval and data your browser sends. We use this data for statistical analyses of visit and click behavior on the website to optimize its operation.

We use this data due to our legitimate interest in monitoring and improving our website. We retain anonymized data (which no longer contains personal data) as long as it is relevant to us.

Cookies

When you visit our website, cookies are placed on your PC for various purposes. These cookies can be functional or analytical and some track your browsing behavior. Therefore, explicit consent is requested for these types of cookies. With their placement, personal data such as the IP address is processed. Please see our cookie statement for more details on what these cookies do and why they are there.

Processing job applications

To process job applications, we handle personal data. This may include personal data such as your name, contact details, CV, transcripts, (possibly) reference letters, (possibly) diplomas and a cover letter.

Screening

A part of the procedure is the screening, which involves searching for publicly accessible information about you online, such as your social media profiles. We may use the information found during the application process for further assessment. Of course, the findings will always be discussed with you. We do not reject candidates based solely on the results of a screening.

The grounds for processing your data for the above purposes may include your consent, as far as necessary to eventually enter into an agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in assessing your application for employment.

If we need help from external HR consultants regarding your application, we may share your data with them.

We do not retain your data longer than necessary for the above purposes. If you do not join Interstellar after the application process, we will not keep your data longer than six weeks after the end of the process. This allows us to contact you if the previous candidate turns out to be unsuitable. If you have given permission to keep your data longer, we will retain it for up to one year after the application process ends.

Newsletter & contact and registration form

To inform you as a customer, potential customer, or relation, you can subscribe to our newsletter. If you want us to contact you, this can also be done via our website.

When you sign up for our newsletter, we only do so with your explicit consent. The data is retained until you unsubscribe. We then retain your email address on our blocklist to ensure you are not accidentally added again later. This is a standard feature of our email service provider, HubSpot. We ask for your name when you subscribe to our newsletters to make them more personal.

We are aware of the ruling by the Court of Justice of the EU on July 16, 2020, invalidating the Privacy Shield mechanism. Therefore, there are currently no adequate safeguards for processing personal data in the United States. Interstellar values privacy highly and we strive to find a suitable solution.
