RENOLIT Netherlandsis a key manufacturing facility within the RENOLIT Group, specializing in the production of high-quality medical products such as blood and infusion bags. This facility is essential for delivering products that meet international medical standards. The Enkhuizen site, with approximately 200 employees, contributes daily to global health by continuously producing according to the latest techniques and regulations.
RENOLIT faced the challenge of creating a fast and redundant fiber optic network that could enhance both production processes and network security. The necessity was high due to the dependency on an ERP system in Germany and the need to ensure 24/7 production without network outages.
Additionally, a high level of network security and expanded visibility capabilities were required. This was to meet stricter regulations and to better protect against potential threats when external partners connect unknown laptops to the network.

Interstellar was engaged to realize a scalable and future-proof fiber optic network. The solution consisted of a redundant multiduct network with HPE core switches and HPE Aruba access switches. To improve network security, Aruba Clearpass was implemented as a Network Access Control (NAC) solution. These solutions ensured that RENOLIT Netherlands not only has a reliable network, but also the flexibility to support future expansions and innovations.
The implementation of the new network was completed in just over four hours, minimizing production downtime. Adequate preparation and planning by Interstellar were crucial for the smooth execution of this process.

In case of a technical issue, the connection switches to the redundant part of the network, ensuring a continuous network connection. This allows office staff to continue working and the production environment to remain connected to the ERP and work order system. Additionally, the Aruba Clearpass NAC solution has improved network security by providing real-time insight into network activities and enabling access control per device.
